Forward test: What It Means

A forward test runs a finished strategy on live prices as they arrive, on a demo or a small real account. Because the data did not exist when the rules were written, the strategy cannot have been fitted to it.

A forward test on a real-money account, tracked by an independent service, is the strongest evidence a bot seller can show. A forward test on demo is weaker, because demo accounts fill orders at ideal prices.
