8 Questions to Ask a Forex Bot Seller Before You Pay
8 Questions to Ask a Forex Bot Seller Before You Pay
You do not need to be an expert to protect yourself. You need to ask plain questions and notice how they are answered. A seller with a real product answers directly. A seller with something to hide gets vague, gets pushy, or changes the subject.
1. Can I see a live, real-money track record on an independent site?
Not a screenshot, not a video, not a backtest. A link you can open yourself, on a third-party tracking service, to a real-money account. See how to read a track record.
2. How long has that account been running?
Anything under six months has not seen enough market conditions. Ask what happened to earlier accounts.
3. What is the maximum equity drawdown?
Equity, not balance. See drawdown explained. If the seller does not know the difference, that tells you something too.
4. Does every trade have a stop loss?
Bots that add to losing positions without a stop can look steady for months and then lose everything in a day. Ask directly whether the strategy uses grid or martingale methods.
5. Which broker do I have to use, and why?
A requirement to use one specific broker is not always a problem, but ask what the seller earns from it. If the seller is paid when you deposit or when you trade, their interest may not match yours.
6. What does it cost to run, beyond the price?
A virtual server, spreads, commissions, and overnight fees all come out of results. Ask for the total monthly cost.
7. What is the refund policy, in writing?
A clear policy with a named company behind it is a good sign. "Contact us and we will sort it out" is not a policy.
8. Who are you?
A real name, a registered business, and a way to reach a person. Anonymous sellers can disappear and start again under a new name.
How to read the answers
Walk away if you hear any of these:
- A promise of fixed or guaranteed returns. No honest trader can promise that.
- Pressure to decide today. Countdown timers and "only three copies left" are sales tactics.
- "It never loses." Every real strategy has losing periods.
- A request to send money to a person rather than pay a company, or to hand over control of your account.
You are not being difficult by asking. You are doing what any careful buyer would do.
